One day in the early 1980's Barbara M. was talking to a long time Al-Anon member about the organization. She was told "you really need to learn about your Al-Anon heritage."
Taking this to heart, she decided to organize a special luncheon to honor
Al-Anon members who helped to build
and maintain the organization.
Thirty-four years later, we owe a debt of gratitude to Barabra for starting tis important tradition in Baton Rouge.
Linda attended her first Al-Anon meeting in 1980. "everyone was so happy I knew it wasn't the right place for me, so I didn't go to another meeting till 1981!" Sick and tired of being sick and tired, she came to the fellowship to learn how to fix the alcoholic in her life, and stayed to fix herself.
Linda's home group is the Monday Noon Steps to Serenity group in Baton Rouge. She has served as treasurer for two other groups, Supplies Coordinator and Office Voluntreer for the AIS, and edited The Caterpillar for five years.
Join us to hear Linda's experience, strength and hope.
